Attorney James A. Hanneman ("Jim") has practiced law since 1995. He is an Ohio State Bar Association, Certified Specialist in Family Relations Law, and one of just 137 attorneys (as of January 27, 2020) in Ohio to earn that designation. His practice is limited to divorce, dissolution, and other family law issues.

Attorney Hanneman graduated from the University of Florida in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He graduated from Ohio University in 1994 with a Masters Degree in Sports Administration and from Capital University in 1994 with a Law Degree (Juris Doctorate).

Attorney Hanneman practiced law in Atlanta, Georgia from 1995 until 1998 in the areas of family law, juvenile law, criminal law, landlord-tenant law, sports and entertainment law and small business law. He remains licensed to practice law in Georgia.

In 1998, Attorney Hanneman returned to Ohio and opened a private practice. In his private practice, he has represented individuals and businesses in various matters including family law, juvenile law, adoption law, criminal law, landlord-tenant law and small business law.

In the last twenty plus years, Attorney Hanneman has focused his practice exclusively in the area of family law. Attorney Hanneman received his specialist certification in family relations law in 2005 from the Ohio State Bar Association. Attorney Hanneman has handled hundreds of family law cases and represented clients at trials and hearings in numerous counties throughout the state of Ohio.

Attorney Hanneman is a frequent speaker at lawyer education seminars. He has given presentations and written articles for the Columbus Bar Association, National Business Institute and numerous other organizations. He has spoken and written on various topics. Attorney Hanneman has been active in many professional organizations. He is a member of the Columbus Bar Association. In the past, he served as the Chairman of the Columbus Bar Association Family Law Committee. He also served as Chairman of the Legal Seminars Sub-committee for the Family Law Committee. He is also a member of the Collaborative Divorce Professionals, Inc. of Central Ohio.

Attorney Hanneman is active in many civic associations. He is a member, and past president, of the Kiwanis Club of Dublin, Ohio. He participated in the Leadership Dublin Ohio program. He also served as a judge for the Ohio high school mock trial competition. He is also President of the Jerome High School Tip Off Club.

Jim is married and has two children. He grew up and graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1985. He is a member of the Vista Community Church in Dublin, Ohio. He enjoys golf and coaching youth sports.
