Gary Wellbaum is a 1981 graduate of Ohio Northern University, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He received his law degree in 1984 from The Ohio State University, College of Law.

Since 1991, Gary has limited his practice exclusively to Family Law. He has been an Ohio State Bar Association Certified Family Relations Law Specialist since the program's inception in 2000.

While Gary handles a broad range of family law matters including divorce, dissolution, child support, child custody, grandparent's rights, step-parent adoptions, pre-nuptial agreements, and family law appeals ranging from the basic to the complex, his focus in recent years has been custody cases involving allegations of abuse and alienation. Gary also assists alternative families with their unique family law needs including co-habitation agreements, co-parenting agreements, and same-sex divorce and dissolution.

Gary believes in maintaining a strong level of communication with his clients, informing and advising them at every step in the legal process. He involves his clients in the decisions that need to be made in their cases and educates them on the outcomes they can anticipate. He has a strong network of other professionals he can draw upon to help his clients achieve positive results.

Gary lectures regularly on the topic of family law at the local, state, and national levels.
